DESCRIPTION

This is a wine from totally healthy & organically farmed Malagousia grapes on limestone clay in the Paleocastra vineyard. Maturation on fine lees for 6 months with short stirring intervals creates complex aromas and distinctive flavours. On the nose: Dry and elegantly restrained aromatic white wine, showing lively floral, citrus and stone fruit aromas. On the palate:It shows full body with an elegant balance between medium alcohol and high refreshing acidity. Intense stone fruit and citrus blossom flavors, spring around a deep mineral backbone, creating a charmy and complex fruity finish. Food Pairing: Grilled fish, seafood pasta and fresh salads.

Malagousia
Malagousia is an aromatic white variety grown primarily in Central Greece and Macedonia, Greece. The variety was rescued from near extinction in 1983 by the winemaker Evangelos Gerovassiliou, after he planted out his vineyard at Epanomi, on the Halkidiki peninsula, with the variety.  Malagousia is best known for its citrus and peach characteristics, often showing melon and pear flavours on the palate with exotic fruit notes. It is often used as a blending agent, most notably with Assyrtiko, to which it adds middle body weight.

Karadimos
This family winery is run by 2nd generation winemaker brothers Dimitris (oenologist) & Yannis (viticulturist). Their 7.5 hct large vineyard was replanted in 1997 with Assyrtiko & Malagousia and in 2000 with Xinomavro, which plot represents the southernmost planting of Xinomavro. It lies on the Slopes Knimidos, near Atalanti, at 440m altitude from sea level and receives the cooling breezes originating both from the Aegean Sea and the Northern Euboean Gulf, as well as the mountain mass of Parnassus. The winery was established in 2000 and operates in full & certified organic mode, producing a total of 20000 bottles a year.
